Dr. Kevin Haiar grew up in Sioux Falls, SD. After graduating from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelors degree in Biology, he pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Creighton Dental School in Omaha, NE.
During his first year at Creighton, Dr. Haiar joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a dental officer for four years following graduation. Dr. Haiar served one year at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, SC and three years at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock, NC.
During his military service, Dr. Haiar worked one-on-one with an oral surgeon, and spent several months as the head of an oral surgery department responsible for the care of roughly 10,000 patients.
It was also during this time that Dr. Haiar continued his implant and surgical education, attending a 300+ hour course at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, where he also completed his IV conscious sedation training.
At the completion of his active duty commitment and two kids later, the Haiar's moved home to South Dakota to be closer to their extended family. Dr. Haiar continued his educational journey attending a 400+ hour CE course at The Advanced Dental Implant Institute in San Juan, Puerto Rico studying under Dr. Hilt Tatum, DDS, FAAID, DABOI/ID.
In 2021, after completing the final round of written and oral examinations as part of the seven year board certification process, Dr. Haiar earned his designation as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, the highest credential granted in implant dentistry.
